What to Expect: We have adopted the motto 'Simply Church’ which we believe exemplifies our commitment to keeping the Gospel (Good News of Jesus) the main thing. There are so many ‘good’ things a church could be doing, we get that...and we want to do 'good things'. However, many in our founding group have seen the dysfunction of ‘busy’ churches with lots of programs that seem to have lost track of the very reason of their existence…the Good News of Jesus. So, it’s not that we won’t have programs, or strive to be a blessing to our community, or serve others in need, but that we will always work tirelessly to keep the Gospel at the forefront of what we do. We want to keep church simple. With that, our Sunday services are centered mainly on a common-sense teaching of God’s Word (Matthew 13:23), Worship, Prayer, and Fellowship.
Childcare: We highly value families attending our Sunday service together. We believe there is no greater witness to our little ones than to see their parents praying/singing/greeting others/opening their bibles and taking notes. So please know that we welcome noises (crying and mild disturbances) throughout the service, it’s just expected in a healthy/growing/thriving/life-giving church. A constant thing we hear from our attenders is that they really enjoy the service and don’t want to miss it, that is a good thing! For parents who may just want a break to be fully engaged in our service, we get that and we want to help. We do offer childcare during the service. If you’d like to use childcare, we’d ask that you try to keep it to 4 years old and under. We won’t be policing this, it’s just a guideline. So don’t worry if your (older than 4) child is having one of ‘those’ days once in a while, and you’d rather check them in, that’s ok. Additionally, if your child becomes excessively restless, feel free to take them to the lobby yourself and tend to them at any point in the service where we have a supply of snacks/juice boxes/toys/activities/books at your disposal. We want to strongly encourage parents to attempt to ‘train your child’ in self-control during the service and stick with it (we’re with you through the growing pains-no judgement on that!), but there are days that don’t work…we get that too.
Children’s Church: It is our desire to come alongside parents to help you teach your children the ways of the Lord in the service by offering a children’s handout with relevant coloring and fill-in the blanks, in an effort to keep their attention. It is not meant to be a distraction from church, but to keep them attentive to church. We want to debunk the belief that there are 2 separate churches within a church…an ‘adult’ church, and a ‘kids’ church. We believe there is only one church, and we will attempt to minister to both young and old as we prayerfully wrestle with our convictions on that belief and the best ways to pursue that. We do not want to set up a child for future failure when they become a teenager and have been accustomed to being entertained in children's church and now have to attend the to boring adult church, which, sadly, the statistics show that most will just stop attending church entirely.
